An exciting week is looming here in Austin. Next week is the (in)famous SXSW music festival. There is so much going on, I'm sure you won't be relying on our humble site for event info. The debut Foolhardy album was recorded at Low Swing Studios in Berlin - a cozy space in a hidden courtyard on Rosenthaler Platz. The sessions began in July 2003 and lasted until December. We assembled an amazing group of people for the recordings. Emergenza is the largest international music festival in the world - taking place on hundreds of stages across Europe and North America. That was interesting week. Members of Foolhardy were passing out goodie bags during the conference. I was at my post when Michael Ivins strolled in. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to talk a little shop. He remembered chatting with me after a show in Prague in 2003, and he told us about a secret gig that the Lips were playing - which we duly attended in the intimate environs of the Fox & Hound

We recently received a very friendly email from Arthur Conley, AKA Mr. Bubble, informing us that he will be including a Foolhardy track on his next Mr. Bubble Wonder Hour show. The new music video for "White Trash Rain" can be viewed by clicking in the yellow box to the right. Austin filmmaker Matthew Fliehler directed and edited the clip. Fliehler, who also made a video for my former band Pompeii V, is known for his gritty, Super 8 style - a particularly effective approach for capturing the urban flavor of Austin-Soco. Serious musicians can be foolish too. Please say hello to Stephen P. Bidwell. Steve involuntarily left his home in New Orleans last year, spent a few months in NYC, and has now landed in Austin. To our delight, he has found himself caught in the Foolhardy tractor beam. He's a grad student in jazz peformance, so watch out!
